Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), was the Chief Guest at the Training Workshop on the Trafficking in Persons & Smuggling of Migrants Acts, organized by the Sindh Judicial Academy in collaboration with UNODC Pakistan.
The training was attended by 24 newly appointed judges and 2 FIA officers. In his concluding remarks, Mr. Detho highlighted Pakistan’s international commitments under key legal frameworks, including the ILO Conventions, UNCRC Article 35, and CEDAW Article 6—urging the judiciary to play an active role in protecting the rights of trafficking survivors.
He encouraged the participants to view themselves not just as enforcers of law, but as defenders of human dignity, emphasizing that their judgments have the power to restore hope and uphold justice for the most vulnerable.
