Thatta, 24 June 2025 – Sindh has launched its first state-of-the-art Model Police Station in Thatta, marking a major step in strengthening citizen-police relations and improving access to justice.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), during his visit, praised the Sindh Police for creating a safe and citizen-friendly space where people feel heard and respected.
The new station features modern surveillance, transparent reporting, and dedicated service counters for women, children, minorities, and vulnerable groups—setting a new standard for policing.
SSP Dr. Imran Muhammad Khan described the facility as a symbol of reform, focused on both technology and trust-building for faster, respectful service.
Civil society and government representatives hailed the model as a replicable approach to citizen-first policing across Sindh.
Mr. Detho stressed the need for continuous training, especially for women officers, to improve handling of cases involving women and children.
This initiative reflects a shift from fear-based policing to a justice system rooted in transparency and community trust.
