SHRC Chairperson meets Young Lawyers to advance human rights in Sindh

Mr. Sindh Human Rights Commission, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), met with representatives of the Young Lawyers Forum Pakistan (YLF) to discuss the role of young legal professionals in the promotion and protection of human rights in Sindh.


During the meeting, Mr. Detho gave a comprehensive briefing on the Commission’s mandate, ongoing initiatives, and the significance of www.sohris.com — "State of Human Rights in Sindh" that serves as a centralized source of data, analysis, and documentation on human rights trends and violations across the province.


He emphasized the importance of legal awareness, education, and proactive youth engagement in tackling human rights challenges. Mr. Detho also encouraged young lawyers to take active part in legal aid, public interest litigation, and policy advocacy.


Judicial Member-I, Mr. Mir Safdar Hussain, was also present and reiterated the need for collaborative actions to ensure justice, equality, and dignity for all citizens.


The SHRC appreciates the constructive engagement with the Young Lawyers Forum and looks forward to joint efforts in strengthening human rights protections across Sindh.
