The Chairperson of Sindh Human Rights Commission, Iqbal Ahmed Detho, participated in an event organized by the Thar Education Alliance, UNICEF Pakistan and School Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh titled *Sindh Children’s Parliament on Right to Education*.
The event aimed to consult with stakeholders and issue recommendations regarding the future roadmap for the Sindh Children’s Parliament at each District level.
During his address, Chairperson Iqbal Ahmed Detho appreciated the positive changes in the Sindh education curriculum, commended the legislation by Sindh Province. He expressed the shortage of books by Sindh Textbook Board impacted performance, and emphasized the need to integrate the Children’s Parliament Caucus with the Women’s Parliament Caucus in Provincial Assembly . He also highlighted the importance of international, national, and provincial laws within the legal framework. Furthermore, He assured full support from the Sindh Human Rights Commission for the expansion of human rights subjects in the curriculum and training of trainers to impart the Child/ Human Rights Education/knowledge effectively.
