Empowering the Marginalized: CNIC Registration Drive for Brick Kiln Workers

Empowering the Marginalized: CNIC Registration Drive for Brick Kiln Workers

The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), in collaboration with NADRA and local organizations such as SPARC, has taken a major step toward transforming the lives of marginalized communities in Sindh—particularly brick kiln workers who previously lacked legal identity.

NADRA Mobile CNIC Registration Vans (MRVs) provided on-site registration services in underserved regions including Tando Hyder (Hyderabad), Umerkot, and Mithi (Kaloi), ensuring easier access to essential documentation.

The CNIC registration drive covered several brick kilns across Sindh, beginning on June 16, 2025, at Zaman Brick Kiln, followed by Super Chand Brick Kiln on June 17, Subhan Brick Kiln on June 18, and concluding today, June 19, 2025, at Lucky Brick Kiln. Today marks the final day of this important outreach initiative.

Through this initiative, brick kiln workers and vulnerable groups received:
Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs)

No more barriers. No more exclusion.
SHRC and NADRA have helped bridge the registration gap, ensuring that every citizen has a voice, an identity, and access to rights and protections.
