The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) held a consultative meeting with civil society at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, District Kamber-Shahdadkot.
Chairperson SHRC, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, and Deputy Commissioner Kamber, Mr. Imdad Ali Abro, jointly chaired the session.
Mr. Detho highlighted the important role of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs), praising their efforts in identifying issues, raising awareness, and linking communities with institutions. He reiterated SHRC’s support for HRDs.
SHRC briefed participants on their work in Kamber, including education projects, library construction, and pushing for improvements in Rural Health Centers.
Civil society members raised new concerns from their communities, which SHRC noted for follow-up.
Mr. Abro praised SHRC’s collaboration with civil society and promised administrative support to address the raised issues.
The meeting ended with a joint commitment from SHRC, the administration, and civil society to promote human rights and sustainable development in Kamber.
