One-Day Training on Human Rights Education for Police Officials at Deputy Commissioner Office, Kamber Shahdadkot.
The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) organized a one-day training session to strengthen the capacity of police officials in applying human rights laws, focusing on the rights of women and children and other marginalised sections of society.
Advocate Mohsin opened the training by highlighting the importance of legal literacy for law enforcement about newly enacted laws.
Barrister Aashir Masood Mahar delivered key lectures on child protection laws, the Juvenile Justice System Act 2018, sexual abuse offences, and the Anti-Rape Act 2021.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson SHRC, led an insightful session on domestic violence laws and the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act 2013.
Mr. Imran Gohar, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, attended the full session and actively participated in discussions.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Imdad Ali Abro appreciated SHRC’s efforts and encouraged more such trainings to improve police engagement with human rights issues.
The day concluded with certificate distribution and a group photo to commemorate the successful event.
