On May 28, 2025, the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) organized a one day training on Capacity Building of Human Rights Defenders at its Regional Office in Sukkur.
Human rights activists, political workers, and media professionals of District Sukkur came together to endorse this vision and strengthen local human rights governance.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson SHRC, emphasized institutional protection, legal safeguards, and collaborative action with state institutions for defending the rights of marginalized communities.
Commissioner Sukkur Mr. Fayaz Hussain Abbassi stressed the importance of women & children police stations and shelter homes for senior citizens, while supporting SHRC’s efforts to empower HRDs.
Legal experts including Barrister Aashir and Kashif Siddiqui led technical sessions on juvenile justice, domestic violence laws, referral mechanisms, and grassroots advocacy planning.
