Barrister Rida Tahir, Member (Business and Human Rights) of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), represented the Commission at the Third Meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee on Business and Human Rights, organized by the Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Rajvir Singh Sodha, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights.
During the session, Barrister Rida Tahir emphasized the urgent need for wider public awareness and grassroots-level implementation of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. She called for stronger financial transparency and accountability mechanisms within both the public and private sectors.
She particularly highlighted the need to focus on women and children from economically marginalized communities, who often face systemic exclusion from safe labor practices, equitable opportunities, and access to justice in business environments.
