SHRC Chairperson attends National Consultation on Strengthening Human Rights Compliance

An online consultation on Enhancing Compliance with International and National Human Rights Obligations: Challenges and Opportunities was conducted by the Research Society of International Law (RSIL), Pakistan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan. The consultation served as a platform for stakeholders to identify challenges, share best practices, and propose strategies to strengthen adherence to human rights laws.

The session was attended by Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, who emphasized the importance of:

Developing evidence-based interventions for law and policy reform.
Improving data collection and reporting through enhanced survey methods and database design.

Providing effective training for officials responsible for human rights data collection and management.

It was further highlighted that stronger inter-provincial coordination, resource allocation, and capacity-building are essential, as gaps persist due to Pakistan’s federal structure and resource constraints.
