On March 11, 2025, SHRC Chairperson Iqbal Ahmed Detho met with Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk in Khairpur to discuss Business and Human Rights, a key focus under the Sindh Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Act, 2022.
The discussion emphasized integrating Business and Human Rights education into Sindh’s business schools. Mr. Detho stressed the need for ethical business practices, social responsibility, and sustainability, highlighting SALU’s role in shaping future business leaders.
Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk supported the initiative and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to producing socially responsible graduates. Both parties explored potential collaborations between SHRC and SALU to promote human rights education.
Later, PPP MPA Halar Wassan, Prof. Dr. Khushk, and Mr. Detho inaugurated a Free Eye Screening Camp, organized with Vision for Education Foundation, IBA, and SALU’s Student Societies Center. The camp provided free eye check-ups and promoted eye health awareness.
The event drew students, faculty, and community members. MPA Wassan emphasized the impact of such healthcare initiatives, while Prof. Dr. Khushk highlighted the university’s commitment to community service in education and health.
This collaboration between SHRC, SALU, and Vision for Education Foundation was praised as a step toward improving healthcare access and advancing human rights education.
