The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), in collaboration with the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO Pakistan), organized a one-day mentoring session for 34 women who recently qualified as police constables. Held at Larkana, the session aimed to enhance their skills and readiness for careers in law enforcement.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of SHRC, delivered a lecture, encouraging the participants to break barriers in the traditionally male-dominated field and contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable policing environment. He emphasized the importance of women's leadership in shaping a fairer and more effective law enforcement system.
In addition, trainers Mr. Shoaib Ali and Mr. Qasim Ali Sheikh conducted engaging sessions on interview techniques and professional conduct. Barrister Rida discussed the challenges women face in policing, providing practical strategies for overcoming obstacles and highlighting the importance of resilience, teamwork, and collaboration in the profession.
The participants expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that it greatly boosted their confidence and preparedness for the challenges of law enforcement.
This initiative showcases the commitment of SHRC and SSDO to empowering women and advancing gender equality in public service roles, paving the way for a more inclusive and representative police force.
