SHRC & SJA Conclude Human Rights Laws Workshop in Sukkur Division

The Sindh Human Rights Commission, in collaboration with the Sindh Judicial Academy, organized a one-day training event for district judges on child protection laws to enhance their capacity in safeguarding children's welfare at the district level.


SHRC Chairperson Iqbal Ahmed Detho, discussed key legal frameworks, including the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act 2013, Prohibition of Employment of Children Act 2017, and Sindh Bonded Labour System Abolition Act 2015. He also stressed activating district vigilance committees.


District & Sessions Judge Naveed Ahmed Soomro addressed child trafficking under the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018, while Barrister Rida Tahir emphasized the importance of specialized child courts. Barrister Aashir Masood Mahar discussed the Juvenile Justice System Act 2018, highlighting the judiciary's role in preventing illegal confinement of children.


District & Sessions Judge Sukkur, Ameer Ahmed Mahesar, as the chief guest, underscored the role of district committees in legal aid and human rights protection during the certificate distribution ceremony.
