The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), in partnership with Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy(BSWA), concluded a two-day training workshop focused on empowering government officials to safeguard the rights of marginalized communities.
The workshop, held in Shaheed Benazir Abad Division, provided key insights into laws protecting marginalized groups, such as the Sindh Hindu Marriage Act and Sindh Local Government Act, while addressing issues like forced conversions and hate speech. SHRC Chairperson, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, emphasized the importance of free marriage and birth registrations and the collective responsibility to uphold Pakistan’s constitutional and international commitments to marginalized communities.
Officials from diverse departments, police, and legal experts participated in interactive sessions on legal enforcement, interfaith harmony, and practical solutions for district-specific challenges. Chief Guest, Additional Commissioner Syed Amar Hussain, distributed certificates, encouraging participants to continue promoting inclusivity.
This initiative marks another milestone in SHRC’s mission to ensure the rights of marginalized communities are effectively protected and practiced across Sindh.
