SHRC Hosts Advisory Committee Meeting of Children’s Parliament
The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), under the leadership of Chairperson Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, hosted the second Advisory Committee meeting of the Children’s Parliament. Key stakeholders reviewed progress, addressed challenges, and charted a future roadmap for the initiative.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho (SHRC) highlighted the initiative's alignment with UNCRC Articles 12 and 13, stressing the activation of School Management Committees (SMCs) for child-centric governance.
Mr. Partab Shivani (Thar Education Alliance) called for active engagement from the technical committee to ensure success.
Ms. Qurat Mudasar (Program Manager) presented milestones achieved and the Parliament’s impact in amplifying children’s voices.
Mr. Asif Abrar (UNICEF) discussed implementation challenges, major achievements, and the need for a strong roadmap to sustain progress.
Mr. Prem Sagar (JICA) expressed support for refining and implementing children’s innovative ideas.
The Advisory Committee reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive policies that empower children and amplify their voices.
