Chairperson (SHRC) Joins Stakeholders Training on Gender-Based Violence

Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, participated in the "One-Day Stakeholders Training on Gender-Based Violence and Referral Mechanism," organized by Pathfinder International and UNHCR Pakistan.

During his address, he discussed citizen and non-citizen rights in the context of international and national human rights laws. He highlighted the challenges faced by non-state people, including Afghan refugees, Bengali, and Bihari communities, particularly in terms of legal identity.

Detho shared the collaborative efforts with NADRA to address these issues and ensure better legal recognition for these marginalized groups. The Chairperson also shed light on existing laws aimed at preventing gender-based violence and the Sindh Human Rights Commission's ongoing efforts to protect women's rights and ensure their safety.
