Chairperson (SHRC) attended the Karachi Justuju Interfaith Forum

Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission attended the "Karachi Justuju Interfaith Forum" organized by SSDO Pakistan at the Marriott Hotel in Karachi.

Speaking to representatives of various religions and sects, he emphasized the growing extremism in society and the efforts of the Sindh Human Rights Commission to combat it.

He highlighted the Commission's initiatives, including the policy and workshops developed in light of the report issued by Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on June 19, 2014, the inclusion of human rights as a subject in educational curricula to promote interfaith harmony, and the publication of a report on hate speech and violations of the Sound System Act following the tragic murder of Dr. Shah Nawaz Kunbhar.

Detho also discussed the protection of minority rights, legislative measures in Sindh, and the need for stronger communication between religious scholars of different faiths. He assured the participants of the Commission's continued support in promoting interfaith harmony.
