Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, conducted a training session at the PC Hotel, Karachi, for newly recruited Assistant Directors of the Local Government Department. Organized in collaboration with UNICEF Pakistan, this session aimed to strengthen participants' understanding of the birth certificate registration process, the role of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS), and the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS).
Mr. Detho emphasized the critical role of CRVS in ensuring every citizen's right to identity and access to essential services. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of effective leadership and communication skills in implementing CRVS initiatives.
Mr. Sukhdev Assardas Hemnani, Member (Minority) of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, provided an insightful briefing on the CRVS laws, rules, and regulations currently in effect. The session focused on enhancing the participants' capacity to improve service delivery through efficient registration processes.
