Mr. Rajvir Singh Sodha, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Human Rights, visited the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) office. He held a detailed meeting with the Chairperson, Judicial Member-I Mr. Arshad Noor Khan, and the staff of the Commission to discuss the Commission's work and the challenges it faces.
The Chairperson Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho briefed Mr. Sodha on the Commission’s powers, functions, and mandate, emphasizing its critical role in safeguarding human rights across Sindh. He outlined the Commission’s ongoing activities and its day-to-day operations. The Chairperson also highlighted significant challenges faced by the Commission.
Mr. Sodha appreciated the Commission’s efforts and expressed keen interest in understanding its challenges. He assured the Chairperson and the staff of his full support on the issues raised by the Commission.
This visit highlights the Sindh government’s commitment to strengthening human rights mechanisms and addressing the systemic issues affecting the effective functioning of the SHRC.
