Member (SHRC) Attends Awami Assembly on 'Stopping Child Marriages & Forced Conversions'

Sindh is the only province of Pakistan that fixes the minimum marriageable age for girls at 18. Definition of child not being the same across Pakistan denotes the imbedded discrimination against women.

Sukhdev Assardas Hemnani (Member - Sindh Human Rights Commission) at Awami Assembly on “Stopping Child Marriages & Forced Conversions” organized by SZABIST & Centre for Social Justice, shared insights into the policy-making vis à vis women & child rights & how Sindh Hindus Marriage Act can help in curtailing the forced marriage of the already married women from minority communities.
