Chairperson (SHRC) attended the Provincial Consultation on Creating an Enabling Environment For Women & Girls to lice Empowered Lives

The Provincial Consultation, aimed at creating an enabling environment for women and girls to live empowered lives, with a focus on providing equal opportunities for the socioeconomic empowerment of marginalized communities, was organized by Civil Society Support Programme (CSSP). The event brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to discuss actionable solutions for creating a more inclusive and supportive society for women, girls, and marginalized groups.

During the consultation, Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, shared valuable perspectives on advancing human rights and gender equality. Detho highlighted the importance of strengthening existing survivor-centric referral mechanisms and free legal aid systems, which are designed to protect survivors of SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence). By ensuring access to these vital services, SHRC aims to support the most vulnerable members of our communities and promote their empowerment.

This consultation is a significant step toward creating a future where every woman and girl, regardless of background, has the opportunity to live a life free from violence and discrimination, with equal access to opportunities for growth and success.
