On November 2, 2024, Iqbal Ahmed Detho Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, alongside SSP M. Kaleem, ADC Zuhaib Kamber and AC Imran Soomro visited the Judicial Lockup in Kambhar Shahdadkot which currently houses 29 inmates in two barracks, managed by 11 police personnel. The visit aimed to assess facility conditions and inmate well-being, revealing key issues such as a lack of medical services, the need for legal aid, and inadequate living conditions.
Recommendations include establishing a medical unit, providing legal assistance, improving facility sanitation, and enhancing staff support. The SHRC is committed to advocating for these necessary changes to ensure humane treatment of inmates.
