Two-Day Training Workshop on Law and Policies for Religious Minorities

The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), in collaboration with Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy(BSWA) and other stakeholders, recently hosted an insightful training workshop focused on empowering government officials regarding the rights of religious minorities.

Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of SHRC, emphasized the commission’s crucial role in advocating for minority rights, detailing the governmental support structures at the district level and available legal aid mechanisms.

Additionally, Mr. Sarfraz Ahmed Jamali (Superintendent - SHRC) presented the formation and functions of SHRC, while Mr. Zulfiqar Meerani led discussions on the commission's commitment to fostering tolerance and protecting minority rights.

The workshop included training on legal frameworks pertinent to the protection of minorities.

Overall, the workshop successfully equipped government officials with essential knowledge to support religious minorities. This collaborative initiative lays a strong foundation for enhanced support and protection of religious minorities in Sindh
