Chairperson (SHRC) visited SOS Village Khairpur Mir's

Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), Iqbal Ahmed Detho, along with District and Sessions Judge Khairpur Mir's, Mrs. Munawar Sultana, and their teams, visited SOS Village Khairpur Mir's. They were accompanied by the District Bar President, General Secretary Khairpur, and other government officials to discuss developments and explore potential collaboration in enhancing the free services offered by SOS Village. They also aimed to connect other services provided by the public and private sectors for marginalized groups, such as children without parental or guardian care, as well as to review the functioning of human rights and child rights protection structures.

During the visit, the Chairperson of SHRC emphasized the need for academic and public welfare organizations to collaborate in ensuring that institutions designed for the welfare of vulnerable populations succeed and benefit the marginalized. He also advocated for the adoption of institutional child care and protection guidelines. The visiting delegates expressed that true happiness and personal growth are achieved when society gives to others, noting that compassion and kindness are inherent traits necessary for human survival. Mr. Detho further explained that trust, connection, and cooperation, fostered through acts of giving, help build community, heal lonely hearts, and bring joy.

The purpose of the visit was to acknowledge the inspiring efforts of philanthropists for the cause of children at SOS Village. They met children who participated in various activities such as reciting poems, answering quizzes, and delivering speeches. The SOS Village Khairpur Mir's team expressed their gratitude for the visit and praised the efforts of local communities in Sindh.

The overall condition of the facility was found to be satisfactory. The management was advised to engage the children in extracurricular activities alongside their studies to further enhance their development and exposure.
