Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), along with SHRC member Ayub khosa, presided over a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Mr. Sharjeel Noor Channa, at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Larkana.
Mr. Detho emphasized the urgent need for a Darul Itfal (children's shelter) and a center for the elderly. He announced a new committee to address Darul Aman issues and plans for a festival, despite legal challenges for women's protection.
The commission is also focused on reinstating a women’s jail and juvenile prison in Larkana, as recent relocations have hindered access for women in legal proceedings.
Additionally, the Assistant Directors of the Human Rights Department and the Women Development Department of Sindh were instructed to collaborate with other government agencies and civil society organizations. This cooperation is intended to enhance communication and swiftly address the concerns of the Larkana community.
