District Ghotki, which has been sensitive w.r.t issues pertaining to the minority communities, requires effective implementation of the progressive legislation. therefore efforts by Sindh Human Rights Commission efforts are underway to implement the Sindh Hindus Marriage Act.
Sukhdev Assardas Hemnani Member (SHRC) convened meeting of the administration, govt. departments & Hindu/Sikh community representatives to chalk out the plan for ensuring registration of Hindu/Sikh marriages.
The SHRC has been sensitizing communities and activating the relevant authorities to take necessary actions, as the implementation of this law will also address the unfortunate cases of minority women being remarried into another faith. Marriage registration under this law will protect these women from grave human rights violations.
