Sukhdev Hemnani (Member-SHRC) visited Central Prison & Correctional Facility Khairpur.

Sukhdev Assardas Hemnani, Member Sindh Human Rights Commission, Inspected the Central Prison & Correctional Facility KHAIRPUR to assess the living conditions of the inmates & overall facilities of the prison.

Thoroughly examined the provision of medicines & other basic necessities within the jail premises. 1000+ inmates are currently present in the facility. Inquired about their concerns & grievances, majority of which were resolved immediately.

Taking cognizance of the need for legal assistance, SHRC provided advocates/required legal assistance to the inmates. Upon SHRC recommendation, In-charge Central Prison Khairpur has requested IGP to shift 8 of the inmates to the correctional facility at Karachi in the best of their interest. Sindh Human Rights Commission, Govt. of Sindh is committed to upholding the rights & welfare of the inmates.
