The Center for Law, Justice & Policy, in collaboration with the Sindh Human Rights Commission, hosted a workshop on 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘄 & 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 at Denning Law School, PECHS, and Seaview Branch.
Guest speaker Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, discussed key topics such as International Human Rights Frameworks and the current state of human rights in Pakistan. He emphasized the judiciary's role in protecting these rights and explored advocacy strategies, including addressing digital rights violations. Detho also highlighted SOHRIS (sohris.com), a platform dedicated to helping students research various human rights topics, providing comprehensive content on human rights.
This initiative aims to raise awareness among law students and enhance their legal acumen for effective policy and research. The Commission will collaborate with universities in Sindh to enhance human rights research through seminars, workshops and dissemination of research finding. It aims to foster a culture of human rights advocacy and strengthen university capacities in this area.
