The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and Legal Aid Society, in partnership with UN Women Pakistan, brought the HeForShe program to the University of Karachi's Law Department.
Barrister Rida Tahir (Gender & Child Rights Expert) ignited a spark among students, inspiring them to become active promoters of social justice. She emphasized the importance of nuanced understanding of human rights laws, including Article 25 and the Sindh Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act 2013.
During her addressed she introduced the SOHRIS portal www.sohris.com, a significant step of SHRC as the resource for all the human rights advocates.
She further added that by recognizing privilege, challenging patriarchal norms, and supporting women's empowerment, MEN can be the change-makers we need. HeForShe is more than a movement - it's a call to action.
