Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho highlighted the importance of Human Rights Education with Youth as the Guest of Honour at a Roundtable Conference organized by the Centre for Human Rights Education Pakistan and Pahel Pakistan. The event focused on discussing key strategies and recommendations to turn violent trends into non-violence and ensure the protection and promotion of religious minority rights in Pakistan.
During the conference, Mr. Detho highlighted the bias present in the Criminal Justice system towards minorities and emphasized the Sindh Human Rights Commission’s commitment to protecting minority rights. He also spoke about SHRC’s ongoing efforts, including the development of a comprehensive "training manual for police", which addresses personal and civil laws relating to religious minorities.
Mr. Samson from HREP , Mr. Naveed Anthony, Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Sindh, MPAs Ms. Fouzia Hameed, Mr. Shariq Jamal, DIG Zulifqar Mahar, Agha Fakhar Director Human Rights Department also attended the program.
