Hyderabad — A youth training workshop organized by the Civil Society Support Programme (CSSP). Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) emphasized that such awareness sessions are crucial for young people to become well-informed and engaged citizens. He discussed global religious issues, the structure of the Constitution, and the legislative powers of federal and provincial governments. Highlighting the Sindh Government's progress with the Hindu Marriage Act and other protections for minorities, he stressed that youth are a vital national asset. According to the Sindh Youth Policy 2018, it is essential for young people to be aware of their economic, social, and political rights.
Mr. Sarfaraz Jamali from SHRC also detailed how to file complaints regarding human rights violations, underscoring the importance of advocacy. Meanwhile, Mr. Abdul Wahid Sangrasi from CSSP outlined the program’s efforts to create district-level Youth Networks and Committees in 20 Union Councils, which have already trained 2,000 young people. The workshop concluded with a dynamic exchange of ideas, marking a significant step towards informed and engaged youth.
