Chairperson (SHRC) met with Secretary, Women Development Department Sindh

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson, Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), recently met with Mr. Rashid Ahmed Zardari, Secretary, Women Development Department Sindh, Government of Sindh. During the meeting, Mr. Detho emphasized the urgent need to activate Darul Aman Management Committees, establish a founding law for these committees, amend the draft of the Workplace Harassment Act and address the challenges facing the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women.

In a positive development, the Secretary, Women Development Department informed that 32 Assistant Directors (Women Empowerment & Protection) have been appointed and their orders will be distributed within a week. These officers will be stationed in every district of Sindh to ensure women's rights and protection.

The Secretary also assured continued cooperation with the Sindh Human Rights Commission and appreciated its dedicated efforts towards promoting human rights in the region.
