The Sindh Human Rights Commission, in collaboration with Musawi and Dreams Of Youth Welfare Society, joined forces to raise widespread awareness about marital rights and the role of courts in handling family cases. A highlight of the session was the presence of the Chairperson (SHRC) Iqbal Ahmed Detho in Liyari, alongside the enthusiastic involvement of local women. During his speech, shed light on the severe consequences of Child Marriage, condemning it as a societal taboo. The event commenced with a formal welcome address by MUSAWI Director Barrister Khadija, followed by an in-depth discussion on the necessary steps for completing the Nikahnama before entering into the lifelong commitment of marriage. Speakers, such as Barrister Khadija, Advocate Mahjabeen Zulfiqar, and Muhammad Rehan, elaborated on the legal procedures for marriage dissolution, the rights of wives, and other legal provisions concerning marriage and its termination, emphasizing the significance of the Nikahnama and dispelling misconceptions surrounding filing for dissolution. The event and its speakers received commendation from the attendees, marking it as a success in spreading awareness.
