Chairperson (SHRC) had a meeting with Mr. Hafeezullah Abassi, the Secretary, Labour and Human Resources Department, Government of Sindh.

Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson, Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), alongside Mr. Rafique Ahmed, Labour Consultant (SHRC) and Barrister Rida Tahir, Legal Consultant (SHRC) recently met with Mr. Hafeezullah Abassi, the Secretary, Labour and Human Resources Department, Government of Sindh.

The agenda of the meeting discusses upcoming initiatives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Pakistan, SHRC and the Labour Department.

During the meeting, Mr. Detho highlighted the successful public hearing with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Labour Unions in District Ghotki. They plan to replicate this in districts Dadu, Sanghar, Badin, and Tharparkar. Additionally, they discussed the training sessions for Labour officers across various regions of Sindh to ensure they are well-versed in new labour laws.

This dynamic partnership signifies a groundbreaking leap forward in promoting labour education, industrial relations, workers' rights and social justice in Sindh.
