Chairperson along with Member (SHRC) visited Central Jail Larkana

Sindh Human Rights Commission Chairperson Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Member M. Ayub khosa, and the Legal team visited Central Jail Larkana, inspecting barracks and addressing inmates' pending matters. Mr. Detho referred transfer applications for some inmates to their respective pending case facilities Additionally, a case of an Afghan refugee for consular access and repatriation to their home country was referred to the IG Prisons for communication with the Home Department and Foreign Ministry.

During the visit to the vocational center for inmates' skill development, the SHRC observed the need for machinery repair and linking vocations with STEVTA for instructor support. They also stressed introducing non-formal education and civic classes. Additionally, the SHRC inspected family meeting booths, advocated for reinstating conjugal rights facilities, and held meetings with oversight committees to resolve jail issues. Legal aid cases and appeals will be filed via various mechanisms supported by the Sindh Government.
