Chairperson along with Member (SHRC) visited Shikarpur Jail

Iqbal Ahmed Detho Chairperson, Sindh Human Rights Commission along with Member (SHRC) Mr. Ayub khosa visited Shikarpur Jail on April 3rd, 2024.

During the visit Mr. Detho emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms to improve inmate well-being and rehabilitation. Key areas such as vocational training, legal access, living conditions, and medical facilities were identified for immediate attention.

Highlighting the importance of vocational training for rehabilitation and skill development, Mr. Detho advocated for its implementation. He also emphasized improving legal representation, addressing infrastructure issues, and enhancing medical services.

Additionally, Mr. Detho stressed the importance of socio-psycho support sessions for inmates and refresher courses for jail staff on prisoners' rights. His commitment to urgent action underscores SHRC's dedication to advocating for meaningful reforms and ensuring human rights protection in Shikarpur district.
