Sindh Human Rights Commission, Chairperson and Members briefed Mr. Malik Zulifqar Ahmed, UNDP Senior National Technical Advisor, and his team at SHRC regarding the overall functioning of SHRC particularly focussing on Bussiness and Human Rights.
SHRC gave overview of the Commission’s important interventions for human rights promotion & protection. SHRC introduced SOHRIS.com, a platform designed to serve as a comprehensive resource hub. This platform aims at enhancing knowledge and understanding of Human Rights in Sindh.
SHRC shared that within this innovative portal, one can discover a treasure trove of essential information covering various aspects of human rights, political rights, economic rights, social rights, cultural rights, and more, and be beneficial for researchers and academia.
In a productive meeting, Mr. Zulifqar Ahmed shared UNDP's ongoing collaboration with the Sindh government across various sectors and expressed keen interest in partnering with SHRC. Highlighting their work in digitalization, especially with SHRIMS, he underscored the importance of technological advancements in enhancing human rights efforts.
Excitingly, UNDP aims to extend its collaboration to academia, particularly in the fields of Law and Social Sciences. Mr. Zulifqar Ahmed revealed plans to engage universities from each province, amplifying the discourse on human rights and fostering a culture of advocacy and awareness.
