Chairperson (SHRC) visit to Dar-ul-Aman in Hyderabad

Today, the Sindh Human Rights Commission team, led by Chairperson, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho undertook a significant visit to Dar-ul-Aman in Hyderabad accompanied by Commissioner Hyderabad Syed Khalid Hyder and DC Hyderabad Mr. Tariq Qureshi. Our commitment to upholding human rights and strengthening Human Rights institutions as enshrined in the Sindh Protection of Human Rights Act, 2011.

During SHRC visit, we engaged closely with the realities of 11 individuals residing at Dar-ul-Aman. Exploring classrooms, dining areas, kitchens, and dispensaries, we observed the challenges The team noted the absence of a permanent trainer for vocational and technical skills, essential for empowering these individuals for a brighter future.

With a majority of cases linked to domestic violence, we reiterate our pledge to advocate for their rights and provide necessary support.

Additionally, the SHRC stresses the urgent need to activate the Management Committee on Darul Aman, Hyderabad, constituted in December 2014.
