Chairperson (SHRC) had a meeting with Director of Local Government Department

The Sindh Human Rights Commission has written a letter to the Secretary of the Local Government Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi, addressing the implementation gaps of the Sindh Hindus Marriage Registration (Amendment) Act, 2018, and Rules of the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act, 2013.

In response to SHRC persistent advocacy and action regarding the lack of implementation of the Sindh Hindu Marriage Act 2018, the Sindh Local Government Department has taken steps to direct its teams to ensure the Act's implementation in both letter and spirit. We, at Sindh Human Rights Commission, will actively follow up on the progress and continue our efforts.

Mr. Akhlaque Khan, Director of Local Government Department and Focal Person, had a meeting with the Chairperson of SHRC, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho.
