In a recent meeting chaired by Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho Chairperson Sindh Human Rights Commission at the Deputy Commissioner's office Larkana, critical strategies were outlined to foster collaboration among government bodies, humanitarian organizations, and community groups. This comprehensive plan aims to redefine roles, responsibilities, and coordination mechanisms to address key priorities.
Mr. Detho emphasized the significance of initiatives promoting school enrollment and retention for girls, especially focusing on pre and post-flood strategies. Highlighting the importance of healthcare, the plan also addresses healthcare infrastructure development and improving facilities across Larkana district.
At the heart of our commitment lies the upholding of human rights, aligning with national and international laws. We're actively engaging with issues such as child labor, domestic violence, transgender rights, justice for heinous crimes, and concerns of minority groups.
Joined by DC Sharjeel Noor, department representatives, and NGOs, the meeting delved into bolstering disaster preparedness, rehabilitating flood-damaged health units, and schools—particularly those serving girls. Evaluation of progress and impact, aligning with SHRC's directives, and developing new schemes to repair existing infrastructure were key discussion points.
