Mr. Zulfiqar Shah, Member (SHRC) attended a conference on Business and Human Rights Phase 2 Project Launch by the United Nations Development Programme Pakistan - UNDP.

Mr. Zulfiqar Shah, Member Sindh Human Rights Commission, Government of Sindh attended a conference on Business and Human Rights Phase 2 Project Launch by the United Nations Development Programme Pakistan - UNDP. During his address, Mr. Zulfiqar Shah introduced the participants about the powers and functions of the Commission and stated that in Sindh Protection of Human Rights Amendment Act of 2023 Business and Human Rights has been exclusively added as one of the core mandate of the Commission in Section (4) iv-a & v respectively therefore, Sindh Human Rights Commission has an exclusive over-sight mandate on the thematic area of Business and Human Rights.

Mr. Shah further lauded the efforts of UNDP for their intervention on the subject matter of Business and Human Rights and extended support of Sindh Human Rights Commission in the execution of the project.
