Chairperson (SHRC) Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho held a meeting with UN-Women delegation

Chairperson Sindh Human Rights Commission Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho held a meeting with UN-Women delegation Ms. Farah (Project associates UN Women) Ms. Parveen Mahar (District Project officer) and Mr. Khan Muhammad Mangi (Project Manager) on 7th July 2023 at Regional SHRC office, Sukkur.

During the meeting, the Chairperson expressed strong support for UN Women's vital work in advocating for gender equality and the advancement of women in various spheres of life. They highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between governments, international organizations, and civil society to achieve meaningful progress in these areas.

Furthermore, the Chairperson emphasized the importance of addressing gender-based violence and discrimination. They proposed the implementation of comprehensive policies and programs to combat these issues, including strengthening legal frameworks, enhancing support services for survivors, and promoting awareness campaigns to challenge harmful societal norms.
