Ms. Asia Muneer of the Aurat Foundation and Mr. Sheraz Ahmed from the War Against Rape paid a visit to the office of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) to have a meeting with the Chairperson Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho.
Ms. Asia shared that the Aurat Foundation, in collaboration with UNDP, has successfully established 10 Legal Aid Desks in Sindh and Punjab.
These desks aim to enhance access to justice and legal services for key populations and individuals living with or at risk of HIV. She also shared that the primary objective is to facilitate HIV-related legal services, ensuring that marginalized communities can readily access the support they need.
Mr. Iqbal emphasized the importance of connecting with civil society organizations in the districts. These organizations act as invaluable pathways to reach individuals and communities in need.
The Chairperson additionally talked about improving the rate of response for Medico-Legal services.
