The Reform Support Unit of the School Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh has officially launched the 'Sindh Rule of Business on Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Act 2016'.
At the event, the Chief Advisor of the Curriculum Wing provided an overview of the Act, while Mr. Amir Murtaza, the Technical Expert, briefed the audience on the Sindh Business Rules for Prohibition of Corporal Punishment. Teachers from various districts also shared insights on positive disciplinary actions, and students added their valuable comments.
Ms. Sidra Mehmood Sadozai, Consultant UNICEF, presented the rollout plans for the Rules and the recent Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Act. Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, shared remarks and reviewed the Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Act 2016, emphasizing its alignment with human rights provisions in the constitution. The Director General of the Child Protection Authority and the Secretary of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, also shared their observations and remarks during this significant occasion.
