Chairperson (SHRC) attendend Consultative Workshop on Draft Sindh Child Protection Police

A Stakeholder Review and Validation Workshop on the Sindh Child Protection Policy, The Director General SCPA, Asghar Ali Ghangro, share the event opening and Introduction of the SCPA.

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson Sindh Human Rights Commission, present the keynote and workshop objectives, to validate the draft of Sindh Child Protection (CP) Policy and its legal frame work as well a presentation on key provisions of the policy.

Mr. Muhammad Sajid Jokhio, Minister Social Welfare Department and Chairperson SCPA share a brief overview and need of Child Protection Policy.

A group work for Organizational Project Management improvement on draft policy to review Sindh Child Protection Policy including its governance and framework, Child safeguarding supplement and data protection and confidentiality was the part of validation workshop, and four groups presented the feedback on Child Protection Policy.

The event conclude on future steps and plans including Timelines, Roles and Responsibility of various stakeholder was presented by respective representatives of UNICEF and SCPA.

The Stakeholder Review and Validation Workshop on the Sindh Child Protection Policy, which took place today. This event aimed to gather valuable insights and feedback to enhance the draft policy and ensure comprehensive child protection measures in the province.

The workshop commenced with the opening remarks and introduction of the Sindh Child Protection Authority (SCPA) by Mr. Asghar Ali Ghangro, the Director General of SCPA. His insightful speech shed light on the importance of child protection and the role of SCPA in safeguarding the rights and well being of children in Sindh.

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, the Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, delivered an impactful keynote address, emphasizing the workshop's objectives. He emphasized the need to validate the draft Sindh Child Protection Policy, including its legal framework, and presented key provisions of the policy to the participants.

During the workshop, Mr. Muhammad Sajid Jokhio, Minister of the Social Welfare Department and Chairperson of SCPA, provided a brief overview of the pressing need for a robust Child Protection Policy. His speech highlighted the importance of collective efforts to protect children from various forms of abuse and ensure their overall well being.

One of the key activities during the workshop was a group work session, focused on Organizational Project Management improvement, where participants reviewed the draft Sindh Child Protection Policy. The discussions encompassed critical aspects such as governance and framework, child safeguarding supplement, and data protection and confidentiality. Four groups worked diligently to provide valuable feedback on the policy.

The event concluded with a presentation on future steps and plans by representatives from UNICEF and SCPA. They outlined the timelines and roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders in implementing the revised policy, showcasing a collaborative effort to enhance child protection measures in Sindh.
