Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, Iqbal Ahmed Detho, visited Civil Hospital Mithi, where he toured various departments, including the children's nursery, maternity wards, EPI center, eye ward, X-ray, blood bank, and drug store. During his visit, he assessed the facilities and spoke with patients to gather information about the medical services and other issues.
During the visit, Civil Surgeon Zahid Mehmood briefed Chairperson Iqbal Ahmed Detho about the challenges and problems faced by Civil Hospital Mithi. He emphasized the urgent need for doctors, paramedics, and particularly female doctors at the hospital. The existing medical staff is currently overwhelmed with their workload, leading to numerous difficulties. In response, Iqbal Ahmed Detho questioned why doctors from Thar are unwilling to serve in their own area. He stressed the importance of raising awareness in civil society so that people take ownership of their respective areas.
During his visit, Iqbal Ahmed Detho also inspected the waiting room and gathered information from individuals regarding access to clean drinking water and other facilities. He directed the administration of the civil hospital to ensure proper care for the patients and their accompanying individuals, urging them to spare no effort in providing adequate medical facilities.
