The Chairperson Sindh Human Rights Commission Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho chaired a meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioner District Ghotki Mr. Majid Sheikh and other lined departments of Government i.e. Local Government Department, Women Development Department, Public Health Engineering Department, District Health officer, Education, Municipal Committees and Town Committee officials and Hindu Community representatives from District Ghotki on 12th May, 2023 @ DC Office @ Mirpur Mathelo, District Ghotki.
The issues such as implementation of Sindh Hindus Marriage (Amendment) Act 2018, Minority Job Quotas, the cases of Harassment, forced conversions were pointed to the Chairman by the Member(s) of Hindu Panchayats and Mukhis.
After listening to the issues, the Chairperson issued recommendations to the concerned Government officials for the immediate resolve of pressing concerns of the Community. Besides, the Chairperson also assured that it will keep track on the progress pertaining to violation of minority rights and will take necessary steps for the uplift of fundamental rights of Minorities.
