Bridging gap between under trial prisoners and legal Aid service providers, the Chairperson #SHRC Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho along with Member/MPA Ms. Farhat Seemen and Member Mr. Ayub khosa paid a visit to District Prisions and correctional facility Larkano and conducted a detailed inspection on the state of living conditions of the inmates including juvenile section along with the issues pertaining to legal representation of the inmates.
In his inspection, LAS Legal Aid Society and PLUS teams also accompanied the worthy Chairman wherein needy inmates were identified and their cases were instantly referred to #LAS and PLUS lawyers for legal assistance.
During the visit, around 48 cases were identified and referred to LAS and PLUS for further action.
Besides legal aid, Improving living conditions of inmates, provision of spousal meeting rights, non production of inmates before courts, Human Rights training of Prision officials and reformation and rehabilitation including vocational education of inmates particularly of #Juveniles and #Women were discussed.
Over all, the Worthy Chairman extended satisfaction with the conditions of the inmates.
