The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in collaboration with National Commission on the Rights of the Child (NCRC) convened a consultation workshop titled "Implementation of Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act-2013," for identifying gaps in Sindh Child Marriage Restraint ACt 2013 & Rules 2016, and to discuss the challenges as to implementation of the law, infrastructural and institutional needs, possible collaaborations, and way forward to address such gaps and impediments in the law to ensure smooth implementation.
The participants spoke on the role of Government departments such as Social Welfare Department, Sindh Child Protection Authority (SCPA) / Child Protection Unit (CPUs), Police, Prosecution, Judiciary for protection the rights of the children while preventing Child Marriages in Sindh.
