Ms. Fareeda Tahir, Public Relation Officer attended the Provincial Conference on “Building Bridges with SCSW and Community Women in Peacebuilding” on 13th June, 2022 at Marriott hotel, Karachi.
Sindh Commission on the Status of Women and Aurat Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the 7th monthly project titled “Building Bridges with SCSW and Community Women in Peacebuilding.”The Project aims at developing an official report for SCSW with CVE/VE-focused policy recommendations for government and elected representatives drawing on information collected through the trainings, research, and engagement with stakeholders and communities towards women peacebuilding initiatives.
Ms. Mahnaz Rahman, Resident Director, Aurat Foundation welcomed to all the participants.
Opening remarks were given by Ms. Nuzhat Shireen, Chairperson, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women.
The keynote speech was given by Dr. Masuma Hasan (Ex Ambassador of Pakistan), Chairperson, Pakistan Institute of International Affairs/ President, Board of Governors, Aurat Foundation.
The panel discussion was carried out by Women Religious leaders on the “Role of Women in Peacebuilding.”
Government officials, Scholars & NGOs representatives, and Media attended the Conference.
